Coffee Mug Art

The Mona Lisa, one of the world's most recognizable paintings, has been recreated with 3,604 cups of coffee and 564 pints of milk. Measuring 20 feet high and 13 feet wide, it took an ambitious team of eight people three hours to create.

Each cup of coffee was painstakingly filled with varying amounts of milk to achieve the different sepia tones of the painting. Created for the Rocks Aroma Festival in Sydney Australia, the exhibit was seen by about 130,000 visitors attending the one day coffee lovers event.

Produced by the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority.

what did they do with the milk that was used? unfortunately, at this time, during a massive food crisis in Africa, I fail to see the art & marketing behind this. All I see is the amount of hungry & malnourished children that could've drank that milk (which was probably wasted).
