Field Notes

Technology is amazing, if not a bit frustrating, but sometimes things were just meant to be simple. For a creative who is instantly struck with inspiration that must be recorded with great urgency, powering a device, entering passwords, and hoping that the screen does not freeze can be the difference between the great American novel and pure drivel.

Field Notes has taken the concept of a memo pad and made a complex dive into simple.

At first glance, with the font and rugged, durable aesthetic, one might sense that Hemingway carried one in the chest pocket of his coat. The brand was inspired by the ghosts of information past, evident in their products, which runs the gamut from memo/steno books, pencils, and pocket ledgers, yet they keep the other foot planted in the future, with a quirky, playful website.

Catering to the lost art of such mundane tasks as creating a grocery list or practicing a signature,a surprising wealth of consumers still subscribe to the old world act of crafting one’s own letters, which would put the Field Notes fanatics on par with vinyl record enthusiasts-both camps, lovers of a system that was never broke.

Amongst the endless possibilities of usage, the thin, DIY memo pads can be used as a personal journal or diary. Today’s generation calls such a thing a BLOG. While it’s a wonder if anyone knows cursive anymore, it is refreshing to know there is a means to learn with Field Notes Brand.

Manufactured and printed in the U.S.A.
