Innova Golf

Innova Golf Discs, with their aerodynamic beveled edge became a harbinger of equipment design in the realm of disc golf.

Patented in 1983, Dave Dunipace’s “Eagle” disc, effectively the first disc created solely for disc golf use, paved the way for the sport. Prior to Innova’s designs, disc golf often employed lighter, more traditional Frisbees: discs made for catching and tricks with a dog on the beach, not for 300 yard drives on an open fairway. True to the company name, Innova “innovated” the chamfered rim familiar to disc golf enthusiasts worldwide; simultaneously tinkering with weights, density, and polymer materials; continuously improving upon play.

Innova now offers a panoply of discs: putters, midrange, long distances drivers, fairway drivers, and a myriad of discs for various wind and course conditions, festooned with colorful names such as: “Star Achon,” and “Champion Ape,” and “Yeti-Pro Aviar,” and “R-Pro Wahoo.” Disc golfers from beginner to professional can find Innova discs to suit their playing style and skill level.

G&S Boxing

G&S top pro speedbag swivels, with their knurled barrels seated in precision machined mounting bases have made speedbags hum in boxing gyms throughout the world for nearly 75 years. The smoothness of the ball bearing mechanism allows the user to hit the speedbag to a staccato blur, and has set the benchmark for the world of speedbag swivels.

The G&S top pro speedbag swivel’s design with double pin chain clip hanger lets the bag hang, with minimum friction resistance, transcending the clunky single ball and socket swivel, or simple eyehook hanging apparatus standard to that point. G&S was a game changer in the ethereal world of speedbag swivels; an unsung essential component in one of the secrets to hand speed in the world of boxing. This simple technological advancement put forth by the G&S top pro swivel forever advanced the skills of boxing, resulting in blistering combinations, and lightening hand eye reflexes becoming the norm. The G&S top pro swivel effectively revolutionized the sport. G&S still makes swivels, and can be found at 43 Essex Street, NYC

Madison Square Club

David Kirsch was a lawyer in a past life when an ingrained passion for physical and mental well being steered him into another direction. That same inkling for optimal health spurred him to create an environment in which he and his crack staff could bestow their vision of physical, mental, and spiritual balance unto an increasingly grateful throng of fitness converts.

But this isn’t your average gym.

The Madison Square Club frowns on the corporate cookie cutter “health clubs”, and its contempt is positively manifested in its own design. With an aesthetic that renders it a fitness boutique more than a spandex laden circuit of heavy machinery (like the aforementioned corporate chains), The Madison Square Club is a portrait of luxury, serenity, and old fashioned hard work, ensured by their world renowned personal trainers.

A country club in the heart of New York City, The Madison Square Club is an innovation in its field, a hub for celebrity clientele and office drones alike, all seeking the elusive balance of body and mind that Kirsch and company have mastered. And you don’t even have to deal with sweaty grunters who don’t wipe down the machine they just hydrated. Some things you cannot put a price tag on.
